As you work over your gear you have to wonder will this season be good, high prices and plenty of fish? Or will it be a scratch along as you roll your guts out? Will we get a early start, beat the wales or will they feast on our fish as we raise our lines. Will the government shut us down? Will the Bering Sea be forgiving, or will it blow the windows out of the pilot house? Will we come home?
Having family in the fishing industry, these questions usually stay as thoughts but every year everyone is optimistic for at least the start of the season.

Remember don’t be optimistic about farmed fish, will not get better.
